Carla Bruni and her flats

Recently I started keep an eye on Carla Bruni. Scandalous model who made people talk of herself as of the first lady of France despite Mr. Sarkozi being married at that time.  You should agree that such woman should be kind of special. Indeed she is.

As far as I don’t know her as a person/friend/lover/wife/first lady of France I know her as a person who made flats look sexy and trendy. It’s not that she’s tall. It’s even not that she watches her hubbie from above. It’s just that some people may look simple things look so nice that you definitely change your mind about it and put  on your wish list.

She made it happen. We like it. We wear it.

I really caught the “flat flue” only this summer. I started desperately storming the stores to find something nice for my swollen feet enchained in the pair of my beloved Louboutins. I kind of loved Ferragamo flats but they appeared to be suicidal to my feet – very rough, couldn’t walk even in the shop.

My savior was Tory Burch flats – nice colours, soft and wallet-friendly. I also have a pair of Louis Vuitton black leather flats with golden buckle. I just love love love them!

When I visited Florence this summer I realized that leather goods made in Florence are very nice, one of the kind and so cheap. I bought 2 pairs of flats and could have bought more but my BF dragged me out of the shop thinking I was crazy. I so regret not buying more. One pair is 85 Euros plus you get a tax refund. Leather is so thin that it feels like your own skin. Could wear them forever!

Olivia Palermo is one of the American trend maker. But she started wearing flats much later and still when I think of Carla the first thing that pops out in my mind is flats. However, Olivia also showed great taste in her flats collection. As far as I can get it she loves French Sole. Never been there but I like their stuff. Suit yourself by watching Olivia’s visit to the shop.
