having launched a blog, you often caught yourself thinking whether you wear anything blogworthy... Is it good enough? Is it not a banality? Should you try to look good simply to be ableto post something?
a lot of looks just pass by because we think they are way too everyday... at the same time, we are real girls, not in fashion, so not Anna Della Russo (even if we wished we were) and we thought we wanted to share our real selves, not what we happen to be from time to time... so perhaps you will not see us suddenly going Olsen sisters or channeling inner Prada via vigorous search of hight street shelves (although Danii for sure to search Prada for Prada as well!!!) ...
as all of us, i am a lawyer. i happen to work in a big international law firm, working primarily for big corporates. this is the men's world (and thank God for that - i so prefer men generally to women generally), but i decided that playing on men's field should not mean that i will hide my girly side (in fact, sometimes i heavily rely on it!).
so i try to look professional at work (even if sometimes being on the borderline between a lawyer and a party girl), but yet attractive.
whenever i happen to have a face to face meeting, i carefully chose what i am going to wear, as my outfit and looks are a shield - i calm myself with "okay, even if i don't know smth at least i look good" (particularly if there are girls at a meeting).
this is a random pic i found on my old i-phone, very dear to me solely because this is exactly how i was dressed when i meet Mr. Big (i hope you are old enough to have watched Sex and the City). Unfortunately, this is a fashion/ life styles blog only and I cannot go on and burden you with details of how i turned my head, meet his eyes and was totally smitten...You know, when you just know you have to get that very special man...very strange for me as normally I develop fondness of guys gradually and am never struck by anyone at the first sight.
funnily enough, when I have bumpted into Mr. Big recently, he remembered every piece of my outfit and hairdo, praising the boots particularly.
i am wearing Massimo Dutti trousers bought last year (I bet you guessed I was totally in love with the sand Chloe trousers of 2010 but could not really afford them so had to find consolation in smth similar). The trousers are quite forgiving and, unusually for me, high-waisted. High waist trousers are so not on top of my list but these ones redeemed for all the previous failed relationships.
i am also wearing a Van Lack shirt, with a courduroy trim and partially pleated front. I am normally opting for TM Lewin shirts for work but occasionally I prefer smth with a twist (and when I say twist I do not mean those cheap "designer bits" you often see in TM Lewin - hey guys, you are good at plain shirts so keep doing this!!!).
the boots are my BCBG Max Azria (as you already know). i dont really like brown and green colors and these have all of them, so this purchase was yet another attempt to broaden fashion horizons and be innovative. the booots have very stable heels, even if a bit too high (about 10 cm for everyday boots is not little if you ask me), but this had proved to be very fortunate - Mr. Big is about 190-195 cm tall!!!
